What is Business Coaching?

The goal of Business Coaching is for the client to increase their awareness and become more conscious of their behaviour, with the aim of being successful personally while also contributing to the success of the organisation. This dual focus is a key difference between business coaching and other types of individual coaching, which is why it is important to consider this aspect when conducting coaching sessions as an external coach in organisations.

Who is the programme designed for?

The programme is designed for both experienced coaches and beginners who provide, or intend to provide, individual business coaching within organisations. Participants are expected to have completed a minimum of 60 coach-specific training hours and to be familiar with the ICF Core Competencies.

What to expect from the programme?

The programme focuses on one-to-one business coaching delivered externally. The following three main phases of business coaching provide the programmes’ structure:

Input phase

Setting foundation through demonstrating ethical practice and co-creating the relationship through simultaneous partnering with the client and relevant stakeholders.

Process phase

Modelling the client’s patterns through listening actively and evoking awareness.

Output phase

Providing frameworks for sustaining the client’s learning and growth after the individual business coaching package is completed.

As the participants you will:

Get familiar with specific features of business coaching and how to adapt general coaching skills to a business context.

Get to understand the so-called triple loop of dimensions of business coaching as located within individual, group/team and organisational level.

Get to understand how organisational structures (e.g. matrix structure) impact individuals’ decision-making strategies.

Get familiar with actions to be taken during the input phase and strengthen the ICF Core Competencies ‘Foundation’ through demonstrating ethical practice and ‘Co-creating the Relationship’ through simultaneous partnering with the client and relevant stakeholders.

Explore and get familiar with ‘modelling’ of the client in the process phase and strengthen the ICF Core Competence ‘Communicating Effectively’ through listening actively and evoking awareness.

Get to test turning the client’s achieved self-awareness into the process of facilitating the client’s growth and thus strengthen the ICF Core Competence ‘Cultivating Learning and Growth’.

Explore and get familiar with actions to be taken in the output phase in order to provide frameworks for sustaining the client’s learning and growth after the business coaching package is completed.

Schedule

The programme runs over a period of seven weeks, with a total duration of 20 hours.

As the coaching industry continues to grow, professional credibility and validation through an ICF Credential is gaining significant importance. It demonstrates your professionalism, integrity, expertise and commitment to ongoing development—qualities that will give added value to your professional standing as a coach.

To maintain your ICF Credential, i.e. Associate Certified Coach (ACC), Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and Master Certified Coach (MCC), you are required to renew it every three years. The credentialing path can support you in ongoing learning and keeps you motivated to advance your coaching.

CCE (e.g. business coaching, group coaching, team coaching) programmes’ prerequisite is to have completed at least 60 hours of coach specific training as they are designed for already trained coaches.

For other listed ICF accredited coach programmes, contact us for further details as some do not have any prerequisites, while others presuppose some coach training being completed.
